Thursday October 24th 2019 - Day 2961 Rock N Roll Nigger

Yesterday I wrote about a few 'coincidences', including Morrissey's 'nod' to Rivkah Shifra in the form of him singing I've Changed My Plea To Guilty and The Queen Is Dead, but what I failed to mention was that the singing of Yes, I Am Blind in Saskatoon was also a nod to Rivkah - she writes a blog titled Little Lamb on a Hill.

MORRISSEY SINGING YES, I AM BLIND IN SASKATOON - WEARING A BLUE BADGE....I WONDER IF IT HAVE A ROSE ON IT?

I contacted Rivkah yesterday via Twitter to ask her if she believed that the 'coincidences' really were nods to her from Morrissey, and to also ask her if she believed that Morrissey really was secretly among us on Twitter; as we BRS members have been claiming for the past 8 years.

Understandably Rivkah was a little taken aback by the 'coincidences', and as I wrote yesterday, the playing of The Queen Is Dead straight after she had tweeted about it gave her goosebumps, but she is too intelligent to brush it all away as coincidences. With regard to Morrissey using the picture of Brendan Behan writing as a backdrop during I've Changed My Plea To Guilty, Rivkah stated, "He did use it immediately after I asked for submissions, so I did wonder", whilst on the subject of Morrissey being on Twitter she wrote, "I think it is possible. Keeping his social media presence super low key would be more his style, and there seems to be evidence."

MORRISSEY IN SASKATOON WEARING A BRUCE LEE SHIRT WITH 'REMOVED FROM SOCIETY' WRITTEN ON IT....ALONG WITH 'MORR' ON THE KNUCKLES OF LEE'S RIGHT HAND, WHICH GENUINELY MADE ME LAUGH OUT LOUD. SOMEONE ON SOCIAL MEDIA HAS STATED THAT THE 'REMOVED FROM SOCIETY' HAS REMINDED THEM OF PATTI SMITH'S 'OUTSIDE OF SOCIETY' FROM ROCK N ROLL NIGGER....NOW THERE'S A SONG THAT MORRISSEY SHOULD COVER - THE HATERS, WITH THEIR COMPLETE LACK OF UNDERSTANDING, WOULD GO MENTAL

Rivkah went on to inform me that she does occasionally read this blog of mine, but I expect she initially thought I was a fantasist who had made it all up.... that's what most initially think, and who can blame them!

Rivkah also added, "Personally, I'm nervous about interacting with Morrissey, as I think I'd turn to jelly, like how he felt when he saw James Baldwin in that Barcelona hotel lobby. Which is why I don't try to, I like to keep the magic while I can."

I was recently told something very similar by another Twitter Moz fan, Fabian. Although Fabian has seen more than enough evidence to KNOW that Morrissey is amongst us on Twitter, he is unable to even attempt to interact with Moz, because it would make his 'God' too 'human'. The magic for many is the fact that Morrissey isn't accessible.

THE MOZZIAH - UNACCESSIBLE

Rivkah also added, "I've felt low key hints that he (Morrissey) also is aware of Letters to Morrissey, but I don't want to ruin the purity of the blog by trying to find out. Obviously, LTM has a different purpose to your blog, it functions as a fan platform to retort the media lies etc. It also has to serve all the fans and kind of disconnect from any particular group or clique of fans (power in numbers, our collective voice in defence rising above). I actually appreciate that he hasn't publicly/directly acknowledged LTM, as I fear it would turn the blog into a drippy giddy fan mail site, which defeats the purpose (it could never be taken seriously). So I feel warmly hugged by his hints that he knows, and relieved he appears to be willing to help LTM retain its purity."

I'm not too sure what the 'purpose' of my blog is, but like Rivkah, I would hate for the real Morrissey to ever acknowledge FTM, as it would bring all and sundry flocking....whereas yesterday's readership was about 16!

And now to this week's chart, which hasn't been easy to compile due to the lack of Youtube footage. The chart was counted down in The Wrong Arms at 5pm today to an audience of.....NONE!

Friday October 25th 2019 - Day 2962 The News is Dead, Boys

Another day, another dullard. I awoke this morning to find that an article had been published in the LA Times yesterday with the title, 'Morrissey is anti-immigrant and backs a white nationalist political party. Why don't fans care?'

I sighed, yawned, and thought to myself, 'here we go again'. I quickly skimmed through the piece; which has be written by a nondescript looking man called Randall Roberts, and found the article to consist of exactly what I knew it would consist of: lies, bullshit and inaccuracies. I then did what I always do when such an article comes out, I took to Twitter to right the wrongs....because we must.

RANDALL ROBERTS - NONDESCRIPT

Roberts' headline tells you all that you need to know, in that the article is nothing but a rehash of a thousand G*ardian articles, and in fact Roberts even quotes the ill-informed G*ardian hack, Dorian Lynskey, along with the moronic plastic-socialist, Bully Bragg and another person I have never heard of before called, Melissa Mora Hidalgo; who apparently is an ex-fan who once wrote a book about Morrissey Fans.

As my new friend, Rivkah Shifra has pointed out on Twitter today, "Morrissey haters are always selling something - a book, a t-shirt, an album. It's all about money. Follow the trail.", whilst Richard Trehy has tweeted, "The LA Times piece is one of the most ridiculously hatcheted pieces. Looks like the US has found itself a Haslam. And so there is a Moz related book on my shelf that tomorrow will be toast." Richard has kept to his word....great toaster, Richard!

Randall Roberts can't be allowed to get off lightly - he is a cunt of the very highest order - another journalist that lies. How can Morrissey be "anti-immigrant" when his own family are immigrants? How? And how can For Britain be a "white nationalist party" when it is headed-up by an Irish left-winger? How?

Hidalgo; who is a Latino living in LA, shows her complete lack of understanding of both For Britain and Morrissey when she states, "the bad rhetoric that Morrissey espouses, and that the party espouses, on these shores would be Trumpism." Did Hidalgo somehow manage to miss the fact that Morrissey wore a 'Fuck Trump' pin for a whole tour, and his band donned 'Fuck Trump' t shirts? And does Hidalgo not realise that the founder of For Britain, Anne-Marie Waters is a gay animal rights activist? Hardly right-wing.

The problem is, the likes of Hidalgo and Roberts have chosen to believe what they have read in The G*ardian about For Britain, rather than find out for themselves. The G*ardian, along with their poster boy, Bully Bragg, have labelled For Britain as a far-right party based on just two things; Brexit and Islam. The middle-class plastic socialists, such as Bragg, see Brexit as being something only racists voted for, whereas in fact Brexit was voted for by a broad range of people, including real socialists living in the heartlands of Northern England. These people aren't racists, they are just people with nothing who are desperate for change.

As for Islam, it is an ideology that murders animals for 'religious' reasons, and throws gays off buildings. Even The G*ardian has published articles explaining how the Islamic countries in the Middle East have no tolerance for gays, but the Morrissey-bashers don't ever mention that. Hidalgo needs to stop believing all that she reads, or is told. It makes you wonder if she ever actually listened to any of Morrissey's lyrics - she certainly didn't understand them.

HIDALGO - PRE-BRAINWASHING

Roberts' article is full of plenty more lies and inaccurate comments, but I really can't be bothered to list them and correct them - what's the point? As Rivkah (@LettersToMoz) tweeted earlier today, "The News is Dead, Boys."

I let Rivkah know that I loved the tweet, and she replied that she would really like someone to put it on a t-shirt and hand it to Moz at the Hollywood Bowl tomorrow. I immediately contacted Fabian (@H0ldenM0rrissey), who is going to be there, to see if he'd be up for it, and he is, so I then suggested that we use an image of Morrissey's favourite feminist, Germaine Greer. 'Iron Bridge' Sam (@sergiogeorgini2) has come up with a design, and so hopefully Fabian will get the shirt made and get it to Morrissey.

Before I sign off for today, there are a couple of quotes in Roberts' article that I will mention. The first comes from the Morrissey-hating G*ardian hack, Borian Lynskey, and reads: "Morrissey seems to have whittled it down to hardcore fans that just love him and don't care what he says." Well, I am one of those hardcore fans, but I can assure Borian that I care more than everabout what Morrissey says, because he is one of the very few public figures who isn't afraid to say it as it is. Poor old Lynskey, he doesn't seem to be able to get anything right....the potato-headed cunt.

BORIAN LYNSKEY

Thankfully, not everyone has been influenced by Roberts and his anti-Moz agenda, and the second quote that I want to mention from his piece comes from Monica Rodriguez; the lady who introduced the official 'Morrissey Day' to LA. Roberts tried to convince Rodriguez that she should reassess her fandom based on Morrissey's, "recent provocations", but she would have none of it, informing Roberts that, "Morrissey has had a long history of saying controversial commentary about England and the monarchy. I think it's part of what he has always been. Everyone in this country and anywhere, in my belief, is entitled to their opinions, even if I am not a proponent of that mindset. Artists have permission to be controversial, it is, by nature, art."

MONICA RODRIGUEZ WITH MORRISSEY ON 'MORRISSEY DAY' NOVEMBER 10 2017

Thank goodness that the likes of Monica Rodriguez are the ones with power, and not the likes of Bully Bragg.

And finally, I must make mention of a comment left on FTM last night by a student called, Ronja (Bedroom Dweller). Here it is:

It's always so nice reading this blog of yours after a day at uni, feeling like an oddball between all those extremely leftist young people who think they understand the world and an academic system that basically holds the same view points (when it should be neutral... but I feel I'm the only one here who actually cares about pluralism). It makes me feel that there are still people out there SOMEWHERE who can think for themselves, have wit and intelligence and care for art.

Well, at least there's a Staircase at my University
Never give in,
Ronja

Ps Also, the Rock n Roll Nigga suggestion made me laugh, now that would be an interesting move. Even though, after covering that, Morrissey wouldn't survive the next 24 hours...

And now my heart is full!

And tomorrow.....it's the Hollywood Bowl - a crash course for the ravers....it's a drive-in Saturday. Will Fabian manage to get that t-shirt to Moz? Time, as ever...

Monday October 28th 2019 - Day 2965 Speaking up

Oh, what a night! On the evidence of Saturday night, Morrissey should have a residency at The Hollywood Bowl. We had been warned by the man himself that the concert would be special, but I don't think anybody realised that it would be quite as special as it actually was.

Writing for Rock NYC in LA, Alyson Camus does a wonderful job of restoring faith in music journalism, and her passionate review has saved me about an hour of writing. Here is Alyson's review, along with links inserted to each of the songs; including the live debut of Days of Decision, plus a little correction by me regarding Everyday Is Like Sunday:

It was certainly not a coincidence if the LA Times published their very woke article just a few days before Morrissey’s show at the Bowl; it looked like a campaign to do some damage or at least to slow down the ticket sales. However, after attending the concert in the pool, after standing so close to the stage among his most adoring fans, I am happy to report that many people are still moved to tears when listening to Morrissey, and the expression of joy on all these faces was real. So where is the controversy? Where was the woke culture last night? It was nowhere to be found, but it jumped right back at my throat after posting a few pics on social media, I could not believe the shitstorm… There is no middle ground for Morrissey, he is either adored or hated, venerated like a god or described with the vilest insults. Last night, the love fest at the Hollywood Bowl never addressed any controversy and problematic statements that Morrissey may have made about Brexit, immigrants or Chinese people. Morrissey didn’t say too much on the subject either, just ‘I would like to remind you, be brave, speak out, it’s contagious’, and that was about it, as his most political move may have been showing photos of the yellow jackets in France during ‘I’m Throwing My Arms Around Paris’.

As I was surrounded by a forest of iPhones raised in the sky, Morrissey made a grand entrance on stage, shining in a green glittery outfit that made him look like a star, and there is no doubt that the first song, ‘You’ll Be Gone’ a Presley cover with a Latin vibe and sung in front of photos of young Elvis, made him look a new King. There was plenty of bravado in his stage moves, he was using the mic cord like a lasso, he was restlessly walking the stage from left to right, touching all the fans who were stretching their arms to reach him. Standing in the pit was truly the right way to see him, looking at his facial expressions and seeing every detail, from his tongue shaking in his mouth during a chorus, to his crazy facial grins.
I was surrounded by Latino people, and a couple on my right was especially absorbed by the show, staying very silent in comparison to the enthusiastic crowd. I saw the man weep during a song while the woman was kissing the photos she had taken with her phone, and at the moment, I thought: Does it matter what was said and rehashed in the news ad nauseam? Does any of Morrissey’s controversial views matter right now? There were only smiles, fervor, and love around me, Morrissey makes people happy and nothing else matters.
‘I am home, I am home, I am home’ screamed Morrissey just after the first song, which was received like a warm kiss by the crowd cheering at the next song, a high energy ‘Suedehead’ with plenty of sing-alongs,… but this would continue throughout the night, while Morrissey never forgot about his large Latino crowd, with a few ‘Muchos Gracias’. From the passionate ‘Irish Blood, English Heart’ to the more melancholic ‘Is It Really So Strange?’ borrowed from the Smiths’ catalog, the crowd never detached its eyes from this shiny green man.
There were a lot of covers during his set, from ‘Wedding Bell Blues’ by Laura Nyro, ‘Days of Decision’ by Phil Ochs, Some Say (I Got Devil) by Melanie – three songs he recorded for his last album, ‘California Son’ – to many equally obscure (to me) tunes, such as ‘Morning Starship’ by Jobriath, the first openly gay glam rock musician, to ‘Lady Willpower’ by the ‘60s pop band, Gary Puckett & the Union Gap, which was exulting a sort of Neil Diamond enthusiasm. And of course, there was the always excellent cover of The Pretenders, ‘Back on the Chain Gang’ with photos of a young Chrissie Hynde in the background.
With barely an interruption between the songs, Morrissey was shining like a too-close bright pulsar, getting dangerously close to the edge of the stage at times, crooning like no other on ‘World Peace is None of Your Business’ or any other title of his impressive catalog.
He got so friendly he talked about inviting someone on stage ‘to interview the band members’, at the condition that this lucky person would introduce each band member: ‘Do you know the names? He asked someone.. ‘I don’t!’. If nobody came on stage at this moment, the craziness started at the Smiths’ cover, the classic ‘Everyday is like Sunday’ that Morrissey sang with an undefeatable spirit (Ed - this is, of course an error; it's a solo song, not a Smiths song, and there were no stage invasions to this song, but Alyson is forgiven - Morrissey concerts do tend to make ones brain go fuzzy!). At this moment, people started to climb on stage to hug him under the watch of his buff security guard. But each time, it was full body contact between Morrissey and the bold fans, and I must say Morrissey seemed to enjoy this.
‘Congratulations you are still here’ joked Morrissey before his wild rendition of ‘Jack the Ripper’, he then removed his sparkling jacket and disappeared behind a screen of dark smoke with a sinister laugh. For the encore and two Smiths songs, Morrissey showed up with an elegant blue jacket barely hiding the writing on his black shirt ‘Fuck the Guardian’… But this became totally visible when he threw away his jacket in the crowd, revealing the profanity in plain view.
‘I am human and I need to be loved’ sang Morrissey during ‘How Soon is Now?’, which seemed to be an overstatement looking at the loving hysteria around me. Then, he ripped his ‘Fuck the Guardian’ shirt off and threw it in the crowd, causing a mini-riot around me. Everyone wanted a piece of it and the passion of these people was incredible and infectious, they were simply fascinated by the man and I felt part of something, part of some collective experience. This is a rare thing since very few performers achieve this level of charisma…
At the risk of starting another shitstorm, I would say Morrissey had all the rights in the world to wear a ‘Fuck the Guardian’ shirt while the newspaper is constantly dissing him. But they failed to spoil the night, as none of the fans was interested in this current rampant cancel culture, and nobody was looking at Morrissey’s flaws. On the contrary, they were embracing the depressed romanticism that has always characterized the songs of the Smiths’ ex-frontman, they were celebrating art and this long life attachment you can have to a song, a line, a piece of music. At this point, ‘Everyday is like Sunday’ barely belonged to Morrissey, it was everyone’s soul-saving anthem, it was everyone’s piece of eternity in this vast messy universe.

Alyson didn't make mention of the sublime renditions of: Yes, I Am BlindI've Changed My Plea To Guilty and I Won't Share You ;which in my opinion were (along with a couple of others) the highlight songs of the show, but just as I forgave her for her EDILS error, Alyson is also forgiven for these omissions.

Also sung, but not mentioned by Alyson were: I Wish You Lonely, Home Is A Question MarkWhy Don't You Find Out For Yourself, Never Again Will I Be A Twin and Jacky's Only Happy When She's Up On The Stage.

And now it's time for my observations and input. Let me start where I left off my previous blog entry of Friday. A plan had been made to get a t-shirt printed with a picture of Germaine Greer on it, along with the slogan, 'The News Is Dead, Boys', and then try and get it to Morrissey at the Bowl. Well, not only did Fabian 'Moz Freek00' get it made, he managed to get it to Morrissey, so we shall now wait to see if Moz wears it one day. What is more, the design made it onto the Morrissey Central website on Saturday morning....it's almost as though Morrissey sees our tweets!

The Morrissey quote from Saturday night referred to by Alyson in her view about 'speaking up' was a reflection of his words posted on Morrissey Central on Saturday morning, which in turn were a reflection of the words written in...... THE COMMENTS SECTION OF FTM BY HEATHER ON FRIDAY NIGHT!!! I shall add it to that ever growing list of coincidences.

And on the subject of coincidences, on Saturday morning I tweeted one of my photos of Morrissey dressed in the all green glittery suit that he wore at the Forest Hills concert, with the caption, 'California Son'. And what outfit did M wear on Saturday? Yep, the suit.

Other things of note from Saturday's concert:
A) Moz wore a blue badge with 'Why Bother' written on it

B) Before singing You'll Be Gone, M sang an a cappella snippet of Al Martino's, Here In My Heart, which I expect was a little nod to Al's daughter, Alison, who Morrissey met in August.

MORRISSEY & ALISON MARTINO

C) Morrissey held an after show party, at which Thelma Houston sang. She has since tweeted to express how thrilled she was to have been asked.

THELMA & LOUISE...I MEAN, MOZ - WITH JAY JOANNIDES PHOTOBOMBING

D) Morrissey wore a badge at the after show party with a red rose on it, and the inscription 'Treat People With Kindness'....his own BRS badge?

E) The merch stall sold a very limited number of LPs signed by Morrissey of some of his favourite artists. Included was Aladdin Sane by David Bowie, which includes the track Drive-In Saturday....which I just so happened to quote in my blog entry of Friday. Coincidence.

I can't think of anything more to add, other than to mention that since wearing the 'Fuck The Guardian' t-shirt, Morrissey has been trending on Twitter for the past two days - you can't keep a good man down. The Brexit-hating left wingers have gone into meltdown, including the G*ardian themselveswhilst on the other side, Leave.EU are embracing Moz, even though he only ever praised Brexit voters for being anti-establishment....Morrissey didn't actually vote leave! No one can label Morrissey, or fit him into a box, he despises both the left and the right. Morrissey remains a true punk rocker.

Tonight is the very last night of the tour - a rescheduled concert in Houston...the city in Texas, not Thelma! Will we have any treats to finish?

And so, the tour is over. Without doubt it has been one of the most successful Morrissey tours that I can remember, and I feel very lucky to have attended one of the shows.

The last concert in Houston took place on Monday, with Morrissey opening with an a cappella snippet of London, but with Euston changed to Houston. Here are some other things of note:
A) Suedehead contained the lyric change, "Why do you slum here"
B) Morrissey once again wore the blue badge with 'Why Bother' written on it
C) The set was closed with Judy is a Punk....which I have taken to be a 'coincidence',  as in my previous blog entry on Monday, I referred to Morrissey as, "A true punk rocker"

There is NO D).

MORRISSEY IN HOUSTON - PHOTO BY JAY JOANNIDES

I have now decided to take a break from both Twitter and this blog. I can see no point remaining on Twitter just to fight ill-informed fools who accuse Morrissey of whatever The G*ardian tell them to accuse Morrissey of. A General Election has just been announced for December 12th, so no doubt my Twitter timeline will be full of even more fools trying to convince me that Brexit is racist and Jeremy Corbyn is the guiding light. I just can't be bothered with such nonsense, although if Our Mozzer should return to The Wrong Arms, I will be back like a shot.

Whilst on the subject of the General Election, exactly three weeks ago I wrote how Boris Johnson would ask the EU for an extension to Brexit, would then call a General Election, and following the election would form a coalition Government with the lib Dems before calling a 2nd referendum, which will result in the UK remaining in the EU. I have been proven right about the first two parts, so we will now have to wait and see if I am right about the end result. Johnson is such an idiot that he'll probably go and win the election by mistake; which would mean he has to implement Brexit even though he doesn't want to, but I still predict that he will do just enough to not get a majority.

Before I sign off, I must make mention of a couple of other things. Firstly, I got into a bit of a spat with celebrity photographer, Kevin Cummins on Twitter yesterday, which ended up with a long debate in the DM box. I was annoyed that he had tweeted a 1991 photograph of his of Morrissey holding a Union Flag badge. I had no problem with the image, but it was the timing of the tweet - Cummins was purposely fanning the flames. I am satisfied that Cummins isn't another of the G*ardian reading, anti-Morrissey brigade, but he's certainly a provocateur.

MORRISSEY BY CUMMINS

The 'Fuck The Guardian' t-shirt that Morrissey wore at The Hollywood Bowl has certainly fired things up, and it has been revealed by G*ardian writer, Joshua Surtees (remember him?) that Morrissey's t-shirt was, at least in part, aimed at him. It transpires that Surtees was going to attend the Hollywood Bowl concert and meet Morrissey at the invitation of Morrissey's manager, Peter Katsis, but Surtees ended up not going, simply because Morrissey wouldn't grant him an interview. Surtees was only interested in earning a shilling, not finding out the truth.

And on the subject of the truth, many of the recent accusations of racism thrown at Morrissey are based solely on his support for the political party, For Britain. I have written many times on this blog that there is no evidence whatsoever to suggest that For Britain are either a racist organisation, or indeed far-right, and in fact they would appear to be on the left of the political spectrum. Today For Britain have published an 'Open Letter to the LA Times re Morrissey'. What is most interesting about the letter, is that it is written by FB's Deputy Chair, Khadija Adam, who is someone raised as a Muslim from a Pakistani background. Khadija's brilliantly worded letter explains exactly what For Britain are all about. I would encourage EVERYONE to read it.

MORRISSEY WEARING HIS FOR BRITAIN PIN ON THE JIMMY FALLON SHOW

And finally, the fact that Morrissey was been selling albums of his favourite artists (signed by him) at his concerts, has led to many people taking pot shots; although a lot of the shots have been with good humour. One such good humoured tweet came from Shed Seven, who tweeted on Monday, "What do people like to see on the merch stand at our gigs? Might do Morrissey albums signed by Shed Seven :)"

This tweet upset a few Morrissey fans, although it made me smile, probably because I happen to know that Shed Seven's lead singer, Rick Witter LOVES Morrissey - he names Moz as his second favourite frontman of all time, behind Jagger. I tweeted to let one of the angered Moz fans know that Rick is a Moz fan and that the tweet was no doubt tongue in cheek, and got a reply from......Rick! I am star struck! Rick is my second favourite frontman of all time! Here is what he tweeted to me: "I didn't even post that, but my head must be involved in a chopping block somewhere...".

RICK WITTER

Right then, I'm off to start a new blog....Following The Rickiah. I may be gone some time.

MORRISSEY AT THE HOLLYWOOD BOWL - PHOTO RANDALL MICHELSON

It is a week since I wrote my last blog entry, and it may well be a lot longer until the next one, because Our Mozzer (@BRSChairman) has closed his Twitter account - there were no goodbyes.

Will OM return, or has 'Time' been called in The Wrong Arms for the last time? is this the end of Morrissey's internet interaction with the Dreary Deluded Dozen? Will the BRS live on? Is Following The Mozziah now obsolete? Time, as ever....

In the article Morrissey thanks all those who attended his recent concerts, and he lists his Top Ten; with The Hollywood Bowl topping the list, and Forest Hills second. The article goes on to mention the fake news that is written about Morrissey, with M writing, "I rely on your intelligence not to consume shitty reports of what does not exist."
Morrissey signs off with, "2020? Hopefully less Alarmism from those who say things that have been given them to say. Otherwise, I think BMG will release 'Bobby, Don't You Think They Know?' as a single - my fantastic duet with Thelma Houston. As always, we pray for airplay. I support you now - just as I supported you in the days before I even knew you."

In other news, Morrissey-Solo have announced that, "a trusted source" has informed them that in 2020 there will be a Smiths reunion and a series of concerts. The subject of a Smiths reunion used to be a weekly theme; with both Morrissey and Marr asked in every interview if it would happen, but in recent years it hasn't been mentioned at all - reading about it actually took me aback. I would have thought that a Smiths reunion would be less likely than Elton John getting back together with Renate, but what do I know. I can't say that it would over excite me, would it ever be as magical as it was thirty five years ago? I guess it would tick a box for all those who never got to see The Smiths play live.

Dan 'Probably not Ricky Gervais after all' NotNormal took to Twitter last night to tell me it would be, "monumental" if The Smiths were to reunite....but then he contradicted himself by tweeting, "If I were M I'd just do my own Smiths tour, but that's just me."

As my long since deceased grandfather's myna bird used to say, "It's a funny old world, whatever next?"

*Goes off singing* Softly, I will leave you softly, for my heart would break if you should wake and see me go, so I leave you softly, long before you miss me, long before your (wrong) arms can beg me stay...

*Foot note - surely after publication of this blog entry, Johnny Marr took to Twitter to dismiss the report of a Smiths reunion by tweeting, "Nigel Farage on guitar." It does make you wonder: A) Where these rumours come from and B) How Marr ever understood Morrissey - Moz hasn't made mention of Nigel Farage since 1938! There is NO C).

The Smiths is dead, and I shall never mention them again.

Thursday November 28th 2019 - Day 2996 I Am Not A Dog On A Chain

It has been three weeks since I last wrote a blog entry, but I am returning today because of some exciting news - no, Our Mozzer has not returned to The Wrong Arms, but there has been an announcement from Camp Moz about the new album.

An article has been published today on Morrissey Central stating that a new LP is scheduled for release in March, with the punk sounding title of, I Am Not A Dog On A Chain. The eleven tracks will be:

1. Jim Jim Falls
2. Love Is On Its Way Out
3. Bobby, Don't You Think They Know?
4. I Am Not A Dog On A Chain
5. What Kind Of People Live In These Houses?
6. Knockabout World
7. Darling, I Hug A Pillow
8. Once I Saw A River Clean
9. The Truth About Ruth
10. The Secret Of Music
11. My Hurling Days Are Done

The titles on IANADOAC that excite me the most are: 2,4,6,7,9,10 and 11. If the songs are in track order, then Jim Jim Falls also excites me, as Morrissey's album openers never fail to hit the spot.

I am sure that Morrissey (or was it Jesse?) had previously stated that the new LP would be coming out in January, so it is a little disappointing that it won't be out until March, mainly because a January release would have given Moz a much better chance of scoring a Number 1 hit.

The title of the new album has for some reason made me think of the tweet posted by Our Mozzer in January 2014, which I then turned into an FTM title - it was, 'I Am Not A Lamp Post'.

The Moz Central statement also mentions that BMG will be re-issuing: Southpaw Grammar, Maladjusted, You Are The Quarry, Ringleader of the Tormentors, Years of Refusal and Live At The Hollywood Bowl.

The MC article also states that this album concludes Morrissey's contract with BMG Records. I really hope a new contract will be put in place, but I fear that all may not be good between Moz and BMG, as there is still no sign of the promised It's Over 7 inch!

In other Moz news:

A) Sing Your Life has been used in a Netflix series called Daybreak

B) Jesse Tobias responded to Johnny Marr's dig about Nigel Farage being in a reformed Smiths by mocking Johnny on social media - likening Marr to the cartoon skunk, Pepé Le Pew, and tweeting, "I can sing!"

PEPÉ LE MARR

C) November 10th saw Morrissey fans taking to social media to celebrate Morrissey Day - which was started in 2017 by Monica Rodriguez

In other news, I have compiled the 'Morrissey Live 2019 Chart' and will be counting it down in The Wrong Arms in a couple of weeks time. I shall then publish it on FTM. I shall also be counting down and publishing my annual 'Most Watched Morrissey Video Chart' at the end of December.

As to whether or not I write any other blog entries in the near future will depend solely on Our Mozzer. Maybe he'll appear in The Wrong Arms! Maybe he'll respond to the email that I sent him last week - the first in two years. Maybe he'll post a new parody in my comments box! Or maybe we'll never see him ever again!

Wednesday December 4th 2019 - Day 3002 To Morrissey, With Love

There has been no sign of Our Mozzer in The Wrong Arms, so I really shouldn't be here....but where else is there to go on a Wednesday afternoon in December?

This morning I spent an hour talking to a couple of (never married) sisters who have just moved to my town from Wembley in London. The two ladies - who are both born and bred Londoners in their sixties - explained to me that the reason they have moved to my part of the world is because London has become so violent and so unrecognisable from the place they have known all of their lives, that they no longer felt safe or part of a community. Make of this what you will, but what I make of it is: A) We don't have enough police due to Government cuts and B) Over-immigration has completely changed the cultural heritage of London boroughs.

As to whether the loss of cultural heritage is a good or bad thing is open to individual interpretation. Some say the world is ever evolving, and it is natural that things change, whilst others see change as something they don't like. There is no right or wrong.

Global warming can be viewed in the same way as cultural heritage. There is no denying that the earth is currently heating up; just as it has done every 50,000 years for the past 4.5 billion years, but there is an argument that we should do all we can to slow down the heating process. The counter argument to this is, it is natural that things change, and slowing it down won't actually stop the inevitable. Who is to say there is a right or wrong?

In Moz news, Morrissey Central has posted a message stating that there is to be a photography exhibition this Friday at the Elham Art Gallery in the UAE titled, 'To Morrissey, With Love'. The gallery has stated:

"This response from us at the gallery, and the artistic community in Ras Al Khaimah, is because we have been following with shock and concern the unjustified hate campaigns from media towards Morrissey. We have decided to stand by Morrissey, as his Muslim friends, to acknowledge that we are aware of him as a true and passionate friend, and tell the world that we know he's not our enemy or hater, and we dedicate a group exhibition to him as thanks for being brave against this cruel and hypocritical world."

The exhibition will see 17 photographers and 34 models "celebrate his (Morrissey's) art and pay him homage". The gallery also states:

"Our photographers and models were spontaneously experimenting on different concepts based on his albums, such as fashion and anti-fashion, critical thinking, sexism, racism, and the common role-model clichés, loneliness and mental health issues. The exhibition will open in a public space in Ras Alkhaimah, then it'll be a travelling exhibition to showcase the collection in several locations inside and outside UAE, including Morrissey's hometown in Manchester, England."

The news of the exhibition has sent Bully Bragg into meltdown - he just doesn't know what to do with this information that intelligent Muslims have worked out for themselves that Morrissey ISN'T racist. First of all Billy took to Twitter to question the authenticity of the exhibition, and then when he realised it was real, tweeted, "I look forward to seeing the reception when the exhibition gets to Manchester."

Billy's tweet implies that he expects the visiting UAE Muslims to be met with hostility by those likeminded to him. I'll just leave that there...

*Goes off singing* He'd stay awake at night, lying in his bed, no one ever listened to, a single word he said, Billy Billy, Billy Billy, oh, Billy Billy, Poor little Billy, wouldn't let go

Monday December 16th 2019 - Day 3016 Back to the old house....or at least, old pub!

Last Thursday the British people went to the polls in a General Election. Most predicted; including me, that the result would be no clear winner, and therefore a hung parliament. I had even gone one step further, and predicted that the hung parliament would then result in a second referendum on EU membership, in which the UK would end up remaining in the EU....which goes to show how little I know!

What I and all the other forecasters hadn't predicted, was that those in northern working-class towns such as Bolsover; who had been TOLD by the likes of: The G*ardian, Billy Bragg, Hugh Grant, Steve Coogan and Johnny Marr that it is racist to want to leave the EU, COMPLETELY IGNORED the plastic socialists, and voted for one of the two parties (Conservative and Brexit Party) who were promising to actually deliver the Brexit they voted for in 2016. The result was a resounding victory for the Conservative Party, and five more years of Boris Johnson as Prime Minister.

Ironically, it now means that Johnson, a 'Remainer', will HAVE to deliver a Brexit he never wanted, whilst opposition leader, Jeremy Corbyn, a 'Leaver', will get the Brexit he always craved for....but at the cost of his job. It's a funny old world.

The actions of those in northern working class towns goes to prove that Morrissey is far more in touch with the man/woman in the street than Bragg and co, but will Bragg now see the error of his ways, and STOP calling Brexiteers racist? Of course not - his type never learn.

No doubt encouraged by the British people's defiance, Morrissey took to the pub on Friday night - The Quadrant in Stretford, which would have been his old local when he lived at number 384 Kings Road. The reason I know M went to the Quadrant on Friday is because a couple of photos appeared on Twitter.

Despite the threats of Dave 'Has-been' Haslam, it would appear that Morrissey came to no harm in his native City - Manchester remains Morrissey's.

Following the posting of the photos, Hypocrite Haslam had the audacity to take to Twitter to state, "I'd like to see him, last time I saw him we got on so well. It was 1985, but still...". Haslam would happily go for a pint with Moz even though he has spent the past couple of years slagging Morrissey off and damaging his good name. What a cunt! And no doubt if he did go for a pint with Moz, he would then write a book all about it. What a double cunt!

Having let my Twitter account expire, I have now re-started it, but as there has been no sigh of Morrissey in The Wrong Arms, I may close it down again soon. Before I do, I shall count down the 'Morrissey Live 2019 Chart' this coming Wednesday at 14:30 GMT. Last year Our Mozzer (as Morfessa) joined us for the countdown - will he join us again on Wednesday?

In other news, the Morrissey inspired photograph exhibition has taken place in Dubai....with NO mention of it in The G*ardian. In fact, the only article to make mention of how Morrissey has inspired Muslim artists has come from one of his own fans, Fiona Dodwell. The MSM are only interested in a Morrissey story if it's a negative one.

In other, other news, Anna Karina has died. Anna was a particular favourite of Astraea

ANNA KARINA WITH FORMER HUSBAND, JEAN-LUC GODARD

And finally, I went to see Ben Elton perform a stand-up gig the other day - it was the funniest and most on-point piece of stand-up I have ever seen. I would like to think that although Elton is a staunch Remainer and G*ardian reader, he wouldn't be foolish enough to see Morrissey the way other G*ardian readers see him....but who knows!

What a year, What a year, What a year! In 2019 Morrissey played thirty two concerts across the USA and Canada, played a Showcase in Philadelphia and made one TV appearance in New York. The concert in Rochester Hills in September was the 1,000th of Morrissey's glorious solo career.

I was fortunate enough to attend one of the shows in 2019 - Forest Hills in Queens, NYC, which Morrissey listed as his second favourite concert behind the one at the Hollywood Bowl.

MORRISSEY IN QUEENS - PHOTO BY ME

A total of fifty four different songs were sung live by Morrissey in 2019, comprising: thirty eight from the solo catalogue, eight Smiths songs and eight covers. Seasick, Yet Still Docked returned to the set after a ten year absence, whilst the Smiths songs; Girl Afraid and I Won't Share You were sung live by Morrissey for the first time ever.

The first song sung live by Morrissey in 2019 was Suedehead in Toronto in April, and the final one was Judy Is A Punk in Houston in October.

At a number of the thirty two concerts there were 'nods'/'coincidences' which relate to the Following The Mozziah 'story' that I have been writing for the past eight years. As in previous years, I have taken these 'coincidences' and placed them into a chart, also adding all the other songs that Morrissey sang live in 2019.

The 'coincidences' of 2019 include:

A) Morrissey singing You're Gonna Need Someone On Your Side at the concert I attended in Forest Hills after I had tweeted a birthday message and a link to that particular song on Morrissey's 60th birthday

B) Morrissey singing That Joke Isn't Funny Anymore in Toronto shortly after I had tweeted that the most unjust thing ever to have happenedin the world was TJIFA not making the Top 40

C) Morrissey singing an a cappella snippet of 'There is a Light That Never Goes Out....On Broadway'a day after I had written on FTM about both There is a Light and On Broadway

D) Morrissey singing Trouble Loves Me (the BRS anthem) with a backdrop from the film Synanon...a film about a cult sect

E) Morrissey mentioning curtains a day after I wrote about the curtains in the film, England is Mine

F) Morrissey singing Irish Blood, English Heart at Forest Hills just after I tweeted, "the English ARE sick to death of Labour and Tories"

G) Morrissey singing I Am Hated For Loving in Kettering for the first time in 19 years after BRS member, Heather Cat had tweeted that it was a song she would like to hear live (the Kettering concert was the only one Heather attended)

H) Morrissey bowing and pointing to my blue rose in Forest Hills during Why Dont You Find Out For Yourself

I) Morrissey describing the audience in Highland Park, Illinois as, "Very dapper" the day after Heather Cat tweeted that Morrissey looked....VERY DAPPER

VERY DAPPER

J) Morrissey singing Panic in San Francisco a day after I asked on FTM how Morrissey stayed "sane".....and just five hours after a 'mystery person' had left comment on FTM asking, "could life ever be sane again?"

K) Morrissey singing World Peace is None of Your Business in Vancouver straight after I had tweeted those same seven words

L) Morrissey singing Dial-a-cliché in Vancouver following me tweeting about Dial-a-disc

M) Morrissey bringing back You'll Be Gone to the set in Vancouver for the first time in ages following on from myself and Dan NotNormal tweeting about Dawn

N) Morrissey singing I've Changed My Plea To Guilty in Winnipeg after Rivkah tweeted about it

O) Morrissey singing The Queen is Dead in Saskatoon following on from a tweet about it by Rivkah

P) Morrissey singing Yes, I Am Blind in Saskatoon as a nod to Rivkah, who writes a blog called Little Lamb On A Hill

Q) Morrissey speaking at the Hollywood Bowl about, "speaking up" after Heather had made a comment the previous day on FTM about Morrissey, "speaking up"

R) Morrissey finishing off the tour singing Judy is a Punk straight after I label Morrissey a punk on FTM

Despite all the 'nods'/'coincidences', 2019 became the third year in a row in which Morrissey didn't accept any of the blue roses offered to him at concerts by members of the Blue Rose Society. However, as M had accepted a blue rose in all of the previous five years prior to 2017, and as he wore a blue rose shirt on stage in 2018, and as Our Mozzer has continued to use the Twitter handle, BRS Chairman (@BRSChairman) this year, I still believe he wants us to take blue roses. Perhaps he will accept one in 2020....or perhaps he won't!

MY BLUE ROSE AT FOREST HILLS

And so to the chart, which I counted down earlier today to a packed Wrong Arms. Unfortunately, unlike last year, we weren't joined by Our Mozzer.

Sunday December 22nd 2019 - Day 3022 Piqued

Of all the Morrissey themed internet bars in all the world, Morrissey had to walk into mine....not that The Wrong Arms is actually mine; although I did sort of create it, so I suppose I can sort of claim it as mine....anyway I digress, what I am trying to convey to you dear reader is....OUR MOZZER IS BACK!

Yep, on Friday afternoon OM (as @AlfsButton) sauntered into The Wrong Arms and stated:

"I fear my 87th Twitter comeback will go unnoticed"

I wasn't actually online at 2.12pm when OM arrived in The Arms, so the comeback did indeed go unnoticed by me, at least initially. I eventually found him propped up against the bar at 9pm, and about half an hour later OM invited me into the cloakroom for a private chat. The transcript of our chat can be read on Day 3022a of FTM, but it won't actually be published until the FTM book comes out in 2035, so you'll have to wait. The chat included talk of darts - it transpired that Morrissey was watching the World Darts Championship on the telly. It also transpired that M doesn't much care for Peter Wright, who he called, "a fool".

PETER 'FOOL' WRIGHT - NOT MOZZER'S FAVOURITE DARTS PLAYER

During our chat, OM informed me that he had returned to Twitter because of a tweet of mine from Thursday that had piqued his interest. The tweet in question read: "I have just been reading through some of my 'unpublished' FTM blog entries. They are mainly of private conversations I have had with Moz - Day 2171a (May 17 2017) is a particularly good one, which people will enjoy....when they get to read the FTM book in 2035!"
M insisted that I show him the contents of Day 2171a, which I did.

OM also informed me that he nearly replied to the tweet of mine with another of his Twitter accounts but he, "didn't wish to blow cover", so he returned with Alf. It is my guess that the "cover" is the Dan Abnormal account, which means I was wrong about it being Ricky Gervais - I should have realised.

Here are the rest of OM's public tweets from Friday:

"Day 2201 - I wish You Ill, or lonely. Who knows?"

"Christmas is what Christmas was. Brexit is what Brexit should have been."

"The political left in Britain has finally been shown that the working classes are not sheep. They will not be patronised. They will not be told thay are wrong. They will not be told to think again. The working class has awoken but will never be woke."

"Robbie Williams having a Christmas album is like being diagnosed with piles. It was not asked for, its embarrassing, painful and sure to not touch number 2."

"Accept me for what I am. I cannot and I would not change my blood."

"Can you smell the change? Can you sense the rising?"

Our Mozzer also interacted with a few of us. Replying to Heather (@heathercat222) about the 'woke' he tweeted:

"They will nurse their pride with heads turned only to one side."

Replying to me about the establishment not wanting Brexit OM tweeted:

"If you wait 30 years then the establishment will not want Christmas either. You understand what I mean. (hashtag) HappyEid"

Replying to Poppy (@PavotMai) about his return to Twitter:

"You can never be sure for how long. Catch me while.... I do not have a cold."

Replying to Poppy about him dying with his hands untied (Irish Blood, English Heart):

"As the days slip on and the world turns into it's own mortal sickness I wonder if the hands of us all will be free ever again."

Replying to Deborah (@deborahwilts) asking if the book Alf's Button is a good read:

"I prefer the Guinness book of world records 1981"

Following OM's tweet about him not changing his blood, I asked if he had become a Jehovah's witness. He replied:

"Have you become utterly useless? You were always useless, however you are beginning to plummet to new depths of incompetence. Have you perhaps thought about becoming the new leader of the Liberal Democrats?"

It is good to have him back!

In other news, the long awaited new Moz single, It's Over, has suddenly started turning up in HMV stores across Britain - there had been no prior announcement. It seems to be a limited edition, but even Morrissey himself seems to know little about it, taking to Morrissey Central to state that, "I have yet to see a finished copy of it myself. I live in knotted hope." Goodness only knows what is going on at BMG. I have purchased all four copies from my local HMV, even though the single is priced at the outrageous amount of £12.99. The 'B' side is a cover of Tim Buckley's 'It Happens Every Time', and is much better than the original, which I didn't much care for. On the 'A' side label is the word STEREO, whilst humorously on the 'B' side is RODEO, which is a reference to the photo of Robert Mitchum on the cover.

And finally for today, M has invited me to interview him for FTM. I have emailed the questions, so we now wait with bated breath - WHAT a Christmas present that would be!

Saturday December 28th - Day 3028 Top of the Pops

As I sat and watched Top of the Pops on Christmas Day, I felt like a real old fogey - every single one of the artists I saw were talentless and toneless. What-is-more, NONE of them had sold a single record. This is the modern world.

One person who does continue to sell records is Morrissey, and despite the haphazard release by BMG of Mozzer's latest single, It's Over, the record has entered the UK Vinyl Singles Chart at Number 2, being kept off the top by the new limited edition white vinyl release of Last Christmas by Wham!.

There has been no sign of Our Mozzer in The Wrong Arms since late on Monday night, when I bumped into him at the urinals. Moz had once again been watching the World Darts Championship, and he stated, "I dislike Peter Wright immensely." As he left the cloakroom, M then said, "What will I do with three days darts free now? If only I had decent questions to answer..."

I can report that, despite the three day break from darts, I have not yet received a reply to the emailed interview questions I sent to Moz. I continue to wait in hope...

Tuesday December 31st - Day 3031 The Most Watched Morrissey Video 2019

At the end of 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 (Day 2664 of FTM) I published a chart of the most watched Morrissey videos on Youtube for that particular year. Today I am publishing a chart for 2019.

Last year the chart comprised all 41 of the 'official' Morrissey videos, and this year those 41 are joined by one more - Wedding Bell Blues. There were actually three new vinyl singles released in 2019, with the other two being Lover-To-Be (for Record Store Day) and It's Over, but no video was released for those releases. Wedding Bell Blues became Morrissey's fifth Number 1 on the UK Vinyl Singles Chart, whilst Lover-To-Be reached Number 10, but would have undoubtedly gone a lot higher had it not been limited to just 1000 copies. It's Over was released 'by mistake' but still entered the Vinyl Singles Chart at Number 2.

None of the three singles released in 2019 made it into the Official UK Singles Chart, as that particular chart is now all about the number of streams a song can get from teenagers in their bedrooms, and has nothing whatsoever to do with sales of physical singles. To call it a singles chart is incredibly misleading, it is a Track Chart - songs don't even have to be officially released as singles to get into it.

I have written previously on this blog of mine about my collection of UK Number 1 singleswhich consisted of every number 1 from the very first chart in November 1952, but I finally gave up the ghost on collecting Number 1s at the beginning of last year as record companies stopped releasing even promo CDs to radio stations. I wouldn't have a clue as to which songs and artists have been Number 1 in either 2018 or 2019. I did start collecting the Official Vinyl Number 1s, but as there is a new Number 1 every week, I gave that idea up fairly quickly.

Despite the fact that charts are now meaningless, the good news is that the vinyl revival continues to gain momentum, and in 2019 we saw more vinyl records sold than CDs for the first time in 30 years. However, those vinyl sales still only account for 4% of the market. Streaming is, of course, the main way we all listen to music nowadays, and Morrissey Central released figures earlier this month showing that Morrissey songs had been streamed 73 million times on Spotify in 2019 - this is the modern world.

This time last year I reported that HMV had gone into administration for a second time, but it was saved early in 2019 by Canadian, Doug Putman, and HMV stores now have bigger selections of vinyl than at anytime since last century. However, independent record shops are struggling; not because of a problem in the record industry, but because of the continued slow death of the high street - the death was started by out of town supermarkets, and the internet is finishing the job. We have no one but ourselves to blame, although is there any need for blame or is this just progress? Like many things, that is a matter of opinion.

And so to the chart. For the fifth year in a row, Morrissey's debut single, Suedehead tops the chart having been watched 10,966,224 times in the past twelve months, which is over 800,000 times more than in the previous twelve months. Suedehead was very much the exception to the rule, as most of the videos on the chart saw a decline in the number of times they were watched in comparison to the previous year. One of the other exceptions was Back On The Chain Gang, which climbs from Number 7 to Number 3, with nearly a million more views this year.

Sing Your Life had 10,252 more views compared to 2018, no doubt thanks to the song featuring in the Netflix series, Daybreak, whilst Boy Racer's viewing numbers went up by over 50% on last year, thanks to the official Morrissey Facebook account linking to it in November to celebrate the songs 24th anniversary - blatant chart rigging if you ask me...perhaps M should do it more!

The one new entry, Wedding Bell Blues, comes in at Number 7.

The chart was compiled on December 10th, and therefore incorporates view counts from the time I compiled the last chart, which was December 11th 2018, to December 10th 2019. Interestingly, two days after I compiled this chart, Morrissey's Official Youtube Channel (at last) uploaded I Have Forgiven Jesus. As I write this, it has already had over 30,000 views, so will no doubt be a lot higher in next year's chart than Number 19.

Friday January 3rd 2020 - Day 3034 Hinterview

If you are reading this blog entry, then you are one of a very small number of people - FTM has fallen off a cliff. My previous entry; Day 3031 - which took me hours to prepare and write, was read by just a few dozen people, whereas the entry before that; Day 3028, didn't even receive any comments....I have become a yesterday man. For the record, FTM's least read page; which also received no comments, was Day 2660, in December 2018, which to date has only been read eight times....and at least three of those eight times were me.

Anyway, as I have stated many times, I don't write this blog for adulation or viewing figures, it is written for: A) my own amusement B) for the amusement of Morrissey and C) as a historical record - there is NO D).

Whilst I am on the subject of public adulation, let me mention, Ruthy (@_rooof_ on Twitter).

Until yesterday I had never heard of Ruthy, but thanks to one of my 40 Twitter followers retweeting her into my timeline, I now do....although by tomorrow I will have completely forgotten about her again - let me explain.

The tweet of Ruthy's that had been retweeted into my timeline was basically an attention seeking 'Aren't I wonderful tweet', in which Ruthy informed the world that despite spending 2 hours on New Years Eve putting on her makeup and getting ready to go out, she instead decided to stay in with her dad because he was sat on his own listening to music. I could have ignored the tweet, but because I was bored, I decided to reply to Ruthy, to let her know that she wasn't fooling me, and that the only reason that she had posted the tweet was to fish for compliments, likes and retweets; which incidentally, she has received by the bucket load (200,000+ 'likes'& 9,000+ retweets). I also pointed out to Ruthy that her abundance of troweled-on makeup looked like it had been applied by a 5 year old and that her father would probably have preferred to have been on his own with his music as opposed to spend the time with a fake looking thing like her. Predictably, I received a volley of abuse from many of those who had been taken in by Ruthy's attention seeking tweet, so I loaded both barrels and gave it back in full.

RUTHY

The reason I mention my petty Twitter arguments with a whole load of nobodies is because, it amused Our Mozzer! Despite us not having seen OM in The Wrong Arms since December 21st, he sent me a DM during my Twitter battles yesterday which read, "How entertaining."

I was pleased that my boredom-induced squabbles had amused OM, but I was far more interested in knowing if he was going to answer the interview questions that I sent him in December, so I asked him. He replied, "I may have scribbled something somewhere." Excitedly, I then asked if he fancied passing them on to me, to which he replied, "All in good time. I'm not quite that bored, yet." I am now hoping that boredom comes to him soon.

OM and I exchanged a few more messages, which I won't repeat now, and then he was gone.

In other news, on December 28th I posted a photograph on Twitter of Roy Orbison in a green cardigan. Yesterday, 'Iron Bridge' Sam (@IronBridgeSam) adapted the photo to replace Roy's sunglasses with a copy of Morrissey's It's Over, and a couple of hours later, the photo appeared on Morrissey's website, Morrissey Central, even though everyoneKNOWS Morrissey doesn't have a Twitter account, so can't possibly have seen the photo - yet ANOTHER of those 'coincidences'.

ROY ORBISON - POSTED BY ME ON TWITTER DEC 28TH

IRON BRIDGE SAM'S ADAPTION, WHICH APPEARED ON MOZ CENTRAL

Morrissey Central has also reported that BMG have now put the 'official' release date of It's Over back to January 24th....even though the record has been available for over two weeks now! You couldn't make this up.

On a more positive note, Morrissey has announced on Moz Central that he has been asked to do a one week residency in Harlem in May, just as he did in 2004. Concerts is Russia were also mentioned in the announcement, as was a March 13th release date for the new LP, I Am Not A Dog On A Chain. Good times, for a change.

And finally, on December 22nd I mentioned that Morrissey didn't like the darts player, Peter 'Snakebite' Wright, who he described as, "a fool". Well, the fool only went and won the World Championship Final on Wednesday! Moz will be fuming!

And finally, finally, Lib Dem MP, Layla Moran has announced that she is Pansexual. Does she not realise that the term for gender fluidity is Humasexual, as decreed by Morrissey in 2013! When will the world ever learn to listen to Moz?

Wednesday January 8th 2020 - Day 3039 The Number 1 Song in Heaven

On Day 3028 (December 28th) I made mention of the fact that Morrissey's new 7 inch single, It's Overhad entered the Official UK Vinyl Singles Chart at Number 2. The record isn't officially being released until January 24th, but a number of copies had been sent to HMV stores early; presumably by mistake, and the instant sale of these rogue copies resulted in that Number 2 position in the chart published on Friday December 27th.

As it was obvious that It's Over wouldn't remain on the chart the following week, I didn't bother to look at the chart on Friday January 3rd, but on Monday morning I decided to have a gander at the chart to see what record had managed to knock Wham off the top spot. To my astonishment, I discovered that it was Morrissey's It's Over! Gawd only knows how a record that can't possibly have sold any copies whatsoever has managed to reach Number 1 in a chart based purely on sales, but who cares - Moz is now the Official Number 1.

I wasn't alone in not having noticed that Morrissey had reached Number 1, NO ONE had mentioned it. Not Morrissey Solo, and not anyone on Twitter. Even Morrissey himself can't have realised, otherwise he would have made a statement on Morrissey Central on either Friday, Saturday or Sunday. I decided to let the world know, and posted a tweet.

'Coincidentally', just a few hours after I tweeted the news, Moz Central issued a statement about It's Over reaching Number 1, with the words, "Morrissey is reportedly "delighted and thankful beyond words"." I bet he is! And no doubt "amazed and confused". I later took to Twitter to contact the Official Charts Company to ask how a record that had sold no copies had reached Number 1, but I received no reply.

There can, of course, only be one reason why It's Over has reached Number 1.....divine intervention! Morrissey has at last been rewarded for all the good he has done. From here on in it is going to be nothing but good news. God loves Morrissey!

Later on Monday, Our Mozzer paid a visit to The Wrong Arms, but unfortunately I missed him as I was binge-watching The Crown on Netflix. By the time I realised that OM had visited, his Twitter account had closed, so I have no idea if he had sent me any messages. Thankfully Heather took a copy of M's tweets, so here they are:

In response to people being upset about the KOKO club in London's Camden burning down:"Nobody cared when my seminal quiff was engulfed in the Yankee Candle incident. 2009 was simply horrific."

(Ed - did Morrissey's hair really catch on fire in 2009? I can't say I recall reading about such an incident. I certainly remember Michael Jackson's hair burning!)

In response to the hashtag RuinAMovieWithOneWord: "England is Islam"

(Ed - you gotta laugh!)

"As I sit and watch clips of my live appearances I find it remarkable that my sheer presence on stage reduces the average age of those in attendance by 35 years. The March of time shows on the faces of those in front of me. It does not show in the face in front of you."

In response to me tweeting about picking on someone because I was bored: "You should take up doing something with your hands like knitting or writing something mesmerizing like List of the Lost."

I have nothing more to add, so I won't.

Friday January 10th 2020 - Day 3041 Tortured down below

The pre-sale of Morrissey's new LP has been launched today, with one track made available for streaming/download straight away....YES, downloading is apparently still a thing, although why anyone would pay 99p for a download in this day and age is beyond me.

I Am Not A Dog On A Chain is available to order on black or limited edition RED vinyl from Independent record shops for £19.99, whilst Morrissey's own website, M Porium is offering a number of formats, including: a limited edition White Label Test Pressing for £100, the standard black vinyl for £20, a CD for a tenner and an 'Everything' bundle for £70, which gets you: the black vinyl LP, the CD, a tee shirt, a pillow case and a tote bag. There is also a '3 t-shirt bundle' for 50 quid and a set of mugs for 15 notes....something for everyone.

The track that has been released today is, Bobby, Don't You Think They Know, which is Morrissey's duet with Thelma Houston, and it is an absolute banger in all senses of the word....TUNE!

I have, of course, had the new song on repeat all day, and I can honestly say, without bias, and without being sycophantic, it is one of the catchiest songs I have heard for a very long time....possibly EVER! - I love it. Not only do M's vocals work really well in harmony with Thelma's, but musically it is just so rich - there's organs, pianos, a great Madness-like sax, guitars, beating drums and the song even has street sounds at the very beginning; which include a beeping car horn and a distant voice shouting, "Get outta here".

Street sounds and great music aside, it is the lyrics which really intrigue me - Who is'Bobby', what is he "pretending" about, and what does, "tortured down below" mean? There are a lot of references to drugs in the song, and also a lyric which states that Bobby brings "pleasure" with whatever he "sings for us", so it is my interpretation that Bobby is, or at least was, a singer with a hidden drug habit - could it be Bobby Hatfield? If it is, then despite Morrissey and Thelma telling us, "everybody knows", this certainly wasn't the case, because Hatfield kept his drug use secret from everyone. Maybe Houston and Moz are acting as the voices in Bobby's head.

BOBBY HATFIELD

Or perhaps the 'Bobby' in the song is struggling with his sexuality, which is why he is "tortured down below", but surely the torture would be in the head, not the loins, so it could be that the "below" reference is not below the hips, but below the skin...tortured in the soul. Who knows? Who even wants to know? I love the mystery of Morrissey's lyrics.

Also available on M Porium today is an It's Over 'bundle', which consists of the 7' single and a shirt. It would appear that whatever hitches there may have recently been with BMG, everything is now very much back on track.

Anyway, I must get back to Bobby.

Yesterday I spent the day driving from Newcastle to Southampton, so I had no chance to log onto the internet or visit The Wrong Arms. When I eventually did manage to log on at around 4pm, I found a couple of messages from Our Mozzer waiting for me in my Twitter DM box. The first, timed at 9.08am, was a question:

"One assumes you have noticed the clue?"

The second message was timed at 3.58pm and read:

"More dates to be added very soon."

I, of course, had NO IDEA what these messages related to, but I quickly discovered that at 9am on Friday morning, Morrissey had announced new tour dates for the month of March, in Leeds, London, Cologne and Paris.....Happy days are here again.

So, WHAT was this clue that Mozzer had mentioned? I immediately went and read back through Alf Button's tweets, and there it was, staring me in the face. On January 6th; as reported on Day 3039 of FTM, Alf tweeted, "The March of time shows on the faces of those in front of me."

The March of time in question was nothing to do with the American newsreel of the 1930s, but was an obvious clue about the March concerts - the tweet even mentioned the audience, and March was written with a capital 'M'.

I immediately replied to OM to let him know that I had found his clue, and got a DM back stating: "Be quicker next time. I should not have to point these things out."Unbelievable! I WAS DRIVING! I HAVE A LIFE!...of sorts.

M then instructed me to, "Keep your eyes peeled", presumably for those extra dates mentioned in his other message. I let him know that I had a potato peeler in hand, and was armed and ready. He was obviously concerned, as he came back with,"Is there an adult present?"

Meanwhile, back in the main bar of The Wrong Arms, I let everybody know about the 'March' clue. Angie (@AngieShepherd13) responded to me by tweeting, "We're not as clever as we think we are", to which I replied, "How were we supposed to know it was a clue?". This was seen by OM, who tweeted to me, "I am sure now, if I was not before, that you are completely intellectually useless. It would be endearing if it was not so infuriating." I thanked him for his kind words, and immediately added them to my Twitter bio....WHAT a badge of honour!....I think he likes me!

I also mentioned in The Wrong Arms that I had still never been to Paris, but that the date of March 11th doesn't work for me. OM replied, "Whisper it but it does not work for me either." Is this a clue of a cancellation? It certainly looks that way.

Mozzer's only other tweets were a reply to Manc Lad, encouraging him to, "Forge your own bath" rather than listen to others, and a retweet of one of his own quotes (from 2012): "Racism is beyond common sense and has no place in our society."

The London date in March is at Wembley Arena, and although I have never seen Morrissey play at Wembley, I don't know yet if I will go to that concert. I will wait and see what other ones are announced. I am desperately hoping that Portsmouth will get a visit.

In other news, It's Over is this week at Number 26 in the Official UK Vinyl Singles Chart....despite NO copies having been available to buy all week! The chart is more rigged than my Wrong Arms charts.

And now, back to listening to Bobby, Don't You Think They Know, which really is an incredible song. Hopefully some radio stations will soon realise it exists - dO BMG not have any A&R people?

Thursday October 3rd 2019 - Day 2940 Barking Bully hypocrite

Yesterday I reported how Bully Bragg had YET AGAIN called Morrissey a racist. After publishing the blog entry, I took to Twitter to repel Bragg and his lies, which I do on every occasion that Bragg opens his ugly mouth or uses his fat fingers to have a pop at Morrissey. Bragg replied to one of my tweets; not to try and debate with me - he's too cowardly for that, but instead to mockingly thank me for drawing his attention to the video I'd posted of his Morrissey obsessed rant in New York.

This morning I awoke to find notification from Twitter that I have been banned from tweeting for seven days for using, 'hateful conduct', and that the ban would be permanent unless I removed 15 tweets that I had posted about Billy Bragg. The great advocate of free speech, Mr Billy Bragg, had reported me to Twitter - you couldn't make it up!

Here are a selection of the tweets that I was TOLD to remove; some of which are over six months old, which means Bragg went 'looking for them' in his attempt to build a case against me:

Apparently, calling Bragg, "jealous", "pathetic" and "boring" is now considered 'hateful conduct'!
This certainly isn't the first time I have received a Twitter ban, and no doubt it won't be the last, and if I'm honest, I quite like getting banned because it means I've gotten under someone's skin; in this case, the intolerable, Bully Bragg. It's having to remove the 'offending' tweets that bothers me.

So this is the world we now live in. You can spread as many lies as you want about someone and go completely unpunished, but if you call someones names such as, "pathetic", you get a ban from social media.

The worst part for me is the hypocrisy. Bragg shouts about freedom of speech, and yet shuts me down for calling him out - Freedom of speech....but only if you agree with me.
I already knew that Bragg was a pretend/plastic socialist, but now I know he is also a fascist....and as I wrote yesterday, a cunt.

Unfortunately, Bragg isn't the only person in the public eye who has been sucked-in by The G*ardian's bullshit and lies, there are MANY of them, including the likes of Morrissey's old writing partner, Johnny Marr and also the artist, Banksy; who everyone has always looked to as being someone who can see clearly in an unclear world. Banksy has opened a shop called Gross Domestic Product in Croydon, and is selling 'Screwed up Morrissey posters', with the advert in the shop window reading, "Celebrate the singer's drift to the far right with this special collectors item - a vintage Morrissey poster screwed up into an angry ball".

Banksy's lack of ability to see the truth means that his art is now meaningless.....unless of course I have gotten this all wrong, and Banksy is actually being ironic with the screwed up poster, which would therefore mean he is taking the piss out of the likes of Bully Bragg for their inability to see that Morrissey is anything BUT far right. I do so hope it's the latter - how hilarious would that be? Unfortunately, I think it is probably the former, and Banksy IS just another brainwashed G*ardian reader. It's a sad, sad, sad, sad world....but luckily some of us have an alternative world to live in - Morrissey's World.

Last Saturday I published a blog article about Morrissey's upcoming March tour dates, but I had to take down the article on the 'instruction' of the great man himself. The reason for me having to take the article down is explained in my blog entry of Sunday which, of course, I was unable to publish as it referenced the blog entry of Saturday. I took to Twitter on Sunday to explain to my three regular readers that they wouldn't be able to read Sunday's blog entry until the book version of FTM is published in 2045.

Soon after I had posted my tweet I received a DM from OM asking to read Sunday's unpublished FTM entry. I don't know why he wanted to read it; after all, it hadn't been published, so couldn't cause any harm....actually, I DO know why he wanted to read it, it's because he is an FTM fan, and doesn't like to miss ANYTHING I write about him. Narcissistic? Absolutely! Anyway, where was I? Oh yes, having received OM's DM, I sent him a copy of Sunday's entry, and he thanked me.

I have heard no more from The Mozziah since Sunday, and he hasn't been in the public bar of The Wrong Arms.

In other news, on Monday there was a pre-sale of concert tickets for those who had ordered the new Moz LP. I logged on at 9am to buy tickets for Wembley Arena, and by two minutes past nine, the deal was done - all stress free and straight forward, and at £65 a ticket, very reasonably priced.

In other other news, Morrissey took to his Moz Central website on Monday to announce that his cat, Dude, had died. I and many others tweeted messages of condolence and on Tuesday another message was posted on Central, thanking everyone for their "loving messages".

And on the subject of death, one of my comic heroes dies on Monday too - Terry Jones. Terry was one of the monty Python team, and his silly antics on that show have shaped my life. My childlike behaviour can be blamed on Jones, who was probably my favourite Python. He directed my favourite film of all time, Life of Brian, and played the role of Brian's mother, Mandy. The immortal line of, "He's not the Messiah, he's a very naughty boy" will live on forever. Terry Jones, a legend....he has ceased to be.

Friday January 31st 2020 - Day 3062 "Gaze with fondness on the wrong one"

Today is Brexit Day, when the UK officially leaves the European Union.....but forget about that, I have something FAR more important to report - Morrissey has 'dropped' a new song. Love Is On Its Way Out has today been let loose on the world, and it's another winner. It hasn't grabbed me in the same way as Bobby, Don't You Think They Know, but I'm not expecting any of the songs on the forthcoming LP to better 'Bobby' as I genuinely think it's a masterpiece.

Love Is On Its Way Out is a melancholic song in which Moz informs us that love is tired and broken down and on its way out. He asks if we have seen the headlines, the grablines, the nerve gas, children crying and the sad rich shooting down elephants and lions. As the song reaches the end Moz asks that before it (love) goes, "do you have the time to show me what's it like?" - this is M's version of Foreigner's, I Wanna Know What Love Is....sort of!  He also asks us to, "take time, be mine and gaze with fondness on the wrong one" - it's SO Morrisseyesque, and I LOVE it.

Whilst I am here, I may as well report on other news. First and foremost, there has been nothing from Our Mozzer; although you had probably already guessed that, as I would have returned before now to write about it. The biggest news item has been the outbreak of a new deadly virus in China called Coronavirus. The virus has come about due to the way the Chinese kill animals in their markets - Morrissey did try to warn the world about the barbarism of the Chinese meat markets, but was shot down and accused of being racist. Chinese meat is literally murdering.

Another big news story has been the death in a helicopter crash of former basketball star, Kobe Bryant. People have been describing him as some sort of God, forgetting that he was accused of rape back in 2003 - which he settled out of court. When I tried to have a discussion with Jaz about this on Twitter, she defended Bryant and told me that I can't possibly know what it's like to be a person of color accused of rape by a white woman. I was shocked, as I would have thought that Jaz would be on the side of the woman who had been raped, but it's a strange old world. I was immediately reminded of similar reactions relating to both OJ Simpson and Michael Jackson. My discussion with Jaz didn't end well - she accused me of, "personally attacking" her, which I did nothing of the sort, so I blocked her. Irrational, silly cow. She has previous.

I wonder if Morrissey holds a similar view to me about Bryant. The day after the news about his death, Morrissey Central posted a picture of a tearful Bryant fan, but it was nothing to do with Bryant, and all to do with the fact that the fan had a Moz tattoo on his arm.

I was kind of hoping that Our Mozzer might appear in The Wrong Arms and tweet, "Distressed to hear of Colin Jackson's passing"....in the same way he did when Whitney Houston died...but he didn't.

Another couple of celebrity deaths were also announced this week; Nicholas Parsons and Neville 'Ray Langton' Buswell. The media were all over the Parsons death, and quite rightly so as he was a talented man, but Buswell slipped under the radar. I happened to see an article about Buswell's death on the internet, so tweeted it. A few hours later, Morrissey Central announced it to - a coincidence for our list? Maybe. Moz Central made no mention of Parsons, but that could be because Parsons once dissed M's Autobiography, stating that it shouldn't have been released by Penguin as a classic.

NEVILLE BUSWELL - PICTURE CURTESY OF SOME WAG OR OTHER ON THE NET

NICHOLAS PARSONS - PICTURE BY ANON ON THE NET

Despite being a wonderful song, Bobby, Don't You Think They Know hasn't been picked up by any major radio stations. It is a song MADE for Radio 2, but they seem to be ignoring it. Fools. I don't suppose Love Is On its Way Out will fare any differently. At least Amazon's Alexa now recognises Bobby - for the past two weeks when I've asked her to play it, she's been stumped, but yesterday morning I asked, and she obliged.

And so, back to Brexit Day. To my mind, it's all a load of old bollocks. Those of us born in Britain are still Europeans, our football teams will still play in Europe, our (shitty) singers will still enter the Eurovision Song Contest, and we will still travel freely through the rest of Europe. All that is changing is that ALL our rules; instead of just some, will be made in Westminster and not Brussels. It's all been a lot of nonsense - nonsense which has led to some people abandoning their love of Morrissey. Fools.

I must now return to Love Is On Its Way Out, and later on today, we should see the Official Chart Company announce that Morrissey has returned to Number 1 in the UK Vinyl Singles Chart - forget Brexit Day, this is a Morrissey Day....but aren't they all!

Thursday February 13 2020 - Day 3075 Who else could I possibly be?

I have just arrived home from a lovely week on the island of Boa Vista, and it would seem that I haven't missed much - certainly not in The Wrong Arms, which is emptier than Madonna's head.

In my previous blog entry of Friday January 31st, I wrote about Morrissey's new song, Love Is On Its Way Out and also wrote how It's Over should have been returning to Number 1 that day. As it happens, It's Over didn't return to Number 1, it went to Number 2 - kept off the top by Harry Styles of all people. I very much doubt that many of Styles' fans even know what a record player looks like, let alone how to play a record, but I'm quite pleased that he's seen fit to issue his material on vinyl, and he is the most likeable of the One Direction sisters, so all is forgiven. If it had been Niall Horan or Louis Tomlinson....well!

This week It's Over is at Number 3, so it's just as well that the record leaked out earlier than it was supposed to, and got to Number 1 earlier this year. If only I Am Not A Dog On A Chain could've leaked early - January is a notoriously good month to get an LP to Number 1, whereas March is notoriously difficult, but let's see what happens.

Love Is On Its Way Out has continued to grow on me, and before I went away on my hols, I tweeted that the lyrics were, "SO Moz". I got a reply from the great man himself (the only visit he has made to The Wrong Arms), which read, "Who else could I possibly be?" - it's a fair point.

The only other things that I have to report are:

A) Emma Jones of The Mirror wrote something positive about Morrissey. I thanked her via Twitter and she replied, "First and foremost he is a poet and an artist and that's how he should be appreciated." How refreshing.

B) Kirk Douglas has died at the age of 103. He was a genuine hero to Morrissey, and Moz responded to the news with a couple of articles on Moz Central - the first titled Now My Heart Is Empty and the second, You Must Please Remember, which was a letter to M from KD.

C) The G*ardian have been up to their old tricks again - this time trying to show that Billie Joe Armstrong regretted duetting with Morrissey....although he didn't actually say anything of the sort.

On the concert front, there have been no more UK dates announced, so it would appear that Leeds and Wembley is going to be our lot! It has however been announced that Morrissey will headline the Cruel World festival in LA in May, and is to host a week long residency in Las Vegas in late June/early July. I love Vegas, and would love to go to see Moz, but unfortunately the dates just don't work for me. Such is life. Viva Las Vegas.
